About

I’m Ken English. For more than 30 years, I’ve been involved with public relations and marketing. For the most part, I’ve worked in the tourism industry, but I have a rather eclectic background due situations beyond my control. In the late 1990s, I realized the importance of the internet, so I began to learn how to develop a website as part of my job at a cruise-only agency. One of the stops on my journey was as a radio broker. Essentially, you buy time and sell advertising for the program(s) you do during the scheduled time. It became expensive, and after 9/11, it became difficult to get advertisers. So, I pursed online marketing.

In late 2007, I attended an internet marketing conference and learned about an internet radio platform called BlogTalkRadio. I signed up and eventually wrote an ebook called BlogTalkRadioMadeEasy. I saw video beginning to emerge as an important online marketing element and decided to learn how to shoot, edit and upload video.

With the introduction of Social Media, I figured I had better learn how the pieces fit together, so I began integrating the elements.

Today, I’m positioning myself as the MediaMojoGuy.

MoJo is not related to Austin Powers and Dr. Evil. It’s not magic, voodoo or good luck. It’s an abbreviation for Mobile Journalist. A Mobile Journalist is a person who develops content using the tools of the internet – text, images, audio and video – then, distributing the content via social media platforms, such as podcasts, blogs and video sharing sites.
